Hi ffa

Given that altitude it is certainly not the ERCO as it is an unpressurised aircraft built around 1945 and is unable to get anywhere near the altitude you noted and has a maximum speed of 177 km/h   https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ERCO_Ercoupe

Alan
Why transponder send N99244 ?

Afternoon Alan,

Thanks for the information on TU-TGW which appears to be airborne again.

Regarding CS-DOM, LAAS has it as a BD700 Global 6000 c/n 9450 ex C-GJLY and latterly M-NALE. Unfortunately no hex codes given.

Afternoon Ian.  Thanks for that.  M-NALE is still showing as registered on the IOM online register, guess its still to be updated.  Its in the circuit at Cascais at this time.

I have no idea why the aircraft is miscoded ffa, why is any aircraft miscoded?  Given the information do you believe that it is the aircraft it purports to be?

Yes ffa,  The hex and the registration go together.  However as it is not coming from N99244 as we have already established it no longer exists it and the aircraft was flying outwith the capabilities of an ERCO, the hex must be being giving off by a different aircraft. Therefore as the aircraft sending the data cannot be N99244 it is a miscode

I would also add that the aircraft picked up by X was not displaying a flight ID.  At least one tracker where US hex codes are concerned automatically details the registration which should be shown whether the aircraft concerned is actually carrying that registration or not.

faa

N99244 does not exist.  The information shown on the screen pertains to the ERCO and will no doubt be supplied by an out of date database.  If there was a new N99244 it would be on the FAA list

When confirmation of the type of aircraft sending the details is obtained I will gladly add it into the database but until such time I have no details to enter.  Somebody somewhere will hopefully sight the aircraft someday and all will become clear

Thanks for your assistance

Alan

Afternoon Ian

Nothing on either of those I am afraid but have asked on mode-s.  The flight ID's noted have been used on everything from U-2's to  U-28's and C-130's
