Hi Terry,

At this time the FAA still show it as a plain old 790 by the way.  Apart from 737 300/400 conversions we have standardised to F for pure built freighters and SF for conversions.  The 300/400's change to F when converted.  For example there are 747 conversions which I have seen with BDSF but we don't use the BD designation on them either as there are conversions centres other than Bedek/BD.

I will need to try and find a copy of the STC to see what the actual designation is given for the variant

Morning Michel,

Thanks again.  BTW the RYR W17 details were added to the d/b on Saturday and the BEE details on Monday so hopefully there will be no further blank route details picked up from them

Morning Alan,

Something not quite right here. I sent you the details for EC-YSO c/n 96009-959. These details on AN have come up showing a silhouette of a presumably motorised hang glider with 'ULAC' in the aircraft column. However, a search of the registration on google gives the following photo and details :

Ian,

Can you access the ICAO DOC 8643 website and update me as to its ICAO CODE as I cannot get the page to open.  I don't believe it has been issued with a code therefor it will either be allocated ULAC or ZZZZ.  As its MTOW is 450kG this puts it in the ultralight category therefore its code is ULAC.  See http://publicapps.caa.co.uk/modalapplication.aspx?catid=1&pagetype=65&appid=1&mode=detailnosummary&fullregmark=CBVF for details on a British registered Maverick.  Unfortunately ULAC covers varying types of aircraft and the logo may not be representative of every type covered by the code. I am unable to change the silhouette for a ULAC and I suggest that if you don't think that the silhouette is suitable for your needs you may want to make a suitable replacement one that does.  Alternatively you may want to change its code in your Navadata to ZZZ and you will get a question mark logo instead.

Afternoon Alan,

After much pfaffing around, I have found the FAA document concerned. I put in 'Control F' and searched for Maverick and designator 'MAVR' has been highlighted. For yourself and anyone else's perusal particularly Rod for silhouettes or equivalent it's here. Just scroll down.

Hi Ian/Alan

Interesting document, but I use https://www.icao.int/publications/DOC8643/Pages/Search.aspx which is working fine for me, and they do have MAVR for the AEA Maverick

EDIT just seen AEA's website - https://web.archive.org/web/20051026195526/http://www.aeroengaus.com.au/aircraft.htm - the Jetphotos hoto that Ian links to is a very different aircraft... discuss!

Rod/Alan,

I think the best idea would be to use 'ZZZZ' as the type designator. It is certainly a bit confusing. I wish I had never picked up the thing now :)

Afternoon Ian/Rod

I don't believe its the same aircraft.  A Google search for AEA Maverick shows https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AEA_Maverick and note its a one seat design and it is stated only one was built while the Murphy Maverick shows as a two seat design https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murphy_Maverick.

I note that in the line under the AEA Maverick there is the MVRK which is the Phoenix Maverick a German licence built version of the Murphy Maverick as per its Wiki entry which would lead me to believe that the Murphy Maverick should also be MVRK but I have not found it yet on the FAA List.

I use that link as well Rod bit cant get it to open possibly because of my crap internet here.  Can you search using Murphy Aircraft to see which of their models show please.

Alan
