Port 30003 timestamps and sorting issue
« on: October 08, 2013, 03:02:28 PM »
Hello Support/Forum

I am using a radarbox with recent ANRB v4.03 and have written an application which reads and interprets port 30003 messages.

I have notices the following issues:

1. The timestamps of the messages are changing every 4 secs (or whatever the sw screen update rate is set for) and there are only minor changes in between ! I wonder why the ANRB software couldn't use timing information from the hardware in order to set more accurate timestamps on the 30003 port ?

2. Worse than that, when I am trying to plot aircraft routes and zoom in on the route it seems that the port 30003 are not sorted by actual time because an aircraft may be shown as moving forward and suddenly backwords. It seems that each of the buffers which are reported every 4 secs are sorted by latitude and not by actual message time !

Is any one can confirm this ? Is there any solution for these issues ?

NitNit,

This issues was raised in V4.03, Can you advise if V5 exhibits the same properties in port 30003

With 5.00.047 it looks better than 4.03, i.e. no message sorting, but the messages are still sent every "screen refresh rate" seconds (mine is set to 3000ms).
