RB2008 & ACARS 2.1
« on: March 25, 2008, 10:03:21 PM »
Hi all.
I have the RB2008 also running AirNav ACARS 2.1 with ACARS selected in v1.5 RB software.

I thought that data from ACARS would update the main database of RB.  I have some a/c with missing data on the RB v1.5 software but on the ACARS 2.1 software I have the missing data for the particular a/c.

I have used Mylog Tools Populate and still missing data for this particular a/c.

Basically i have all the data but missing route info on RB yet on ACARS 2.1 i have route.

Does it or doesn't it update RB database automatically?

Sorry if it sounds confusing, i don't know how to explain it.

Regards
Tony

They do not update each other, its just a interface to show the raw data in to RadarBox.

AirNav Support.

Thanks for the fastest reply i ever had :).

Will this be possible in the future as the raw data from ACARS surely is very upto date.  Routes would then be updated and perhaps other info would be updated.

Thanks for a very prompt reply.
Excellent Support Service.

In theory its possible. I am sure someone clever can create an application which listens to DDE ACARS and then looks out for the clearance and departure acars messages and saves the route.

Only issue though is its a bit long winded compared to other methods of getting routes and not all airlines use ACARS this way.
