Further to my post in the Discussion forum yesterday, here are some images of this aircraft in a racetrack pattern north of the Pyrenees, before descending and presumably landing at Toulouse.  Sorry I didn't zoom in - it slipped my mind.  This aircraft had previously passed my location going north, before returning south again.  Seen with binoculars before checking it out on RB.

I've posted the first image into this thread, the others (a small selection) are links to save clutter, I hope it all works out OK...

I don't know where the purple streaks in the top left hand corner came from.

Hi Deadcalm,

I had the same streaks a week ago. I have seen several Gulfstream 4s or 5s which seem to have tweaked their boxes to hide their identity presumably. There are several different ways in which this is done :

Method 1 : The flight trail shows on the map with the flight tag cycling on and off every 3 seconds.

Method 2 : The flight trail shows and the flight tag cycles on and off in a random pattern. At the same time the flight level is flipping between the apparent correct level and a spurious level. Examples I have seen would be along the lines of : Actual level FL 400. Spurious level FL1210 ! or Actual level FL 400, Spurious level FL130.

Method 3 : The one you saw where the aircraft position is flipping between it's actual position and a distant position. In the case I saw it was flipping between North Atlantic airspace and Brazil !! I got a bit of a fright when I saw it happening as I thought the program was in the process of crashing ! The RB software works very well in plotting the information it is receiving  :)

With methods 1 and 2 I have seen the aircraft flying over the North Atlantic with a steady flight tag but as soon as they make landfall the erratic behaviour starts.

Thanks for that info, EINN-07, I'd put it down to spurious lines generated by my video card.  I have seen them before, but they eventually cleared.
