ShipTrax Update - Good News
« on: July 16, 2010, 01:44:35 AM »
We finally have good news.
We are now testing a totally optimized HW sample of ShipTrax and from tests done during the last 4 days it is receiving 20% more messages compared with SR162 (a well known dual band AIS receiver).

We are now testing the USB, RS232 and Ethernet port of ShipTrax.
If the HW is finally approved we will go ahead and start beta testing it.

We will keep you informed of the work that is being developed.

Has the ShipTrax hardware been tested alongside a Radarbox, and can you confirm that there is NO interference between the two boxes.

See http://www.airnavsystems.com/forum/index.php?topic=5121.msg51771#msg51771

And if anyone is interested in what the ShipTrax software looks like in practice, my 5-minute delayed ftp upload will be ON today at http://www.tarbat.gofreeserve.com/radarbox.htm

What where the test and setup conditions that enable you to make that claim?

Tarbat: no interference at all between RadarBox and ShipTrax, they are totally independent.

lasatalayas: until now several days of comparative testing between ShipTrax and its various outputs (Serial, USB, Ethernet) and SR162: several antennas, splitter, several conditions. As an example during the last 24 hrs ShipTrax got 136% of the messages SR162 got. These are only preliminary tests and after these factiry tests will be done.

We are getting closer. The HW is getting the final approval on Jan 11th and the SW is finished too (2 or 3 minor points to be corrected). After that it's all about the building process of thousands of units.

We are sending the final hardware version to the beta testers tomorrow so if all goes Ok we will pre-release before July. If corrections are still needed we will wait a few more days.
