Hi all, first post although I've been lurking for quite a few months.

Can anyone help with a tie up for a flight just passed over Halesowen ?

AGZA236 mode S 004021 It was showing a Zimbabwe flag but unfortunately no reg or route info.

Regards

Steve

Steve,
According to Libhomeradar, this is Z-BAV an MD11F of Avient Aviation. It is c/n 48408 ,ex N408SH. Unfortunately, no routing information given.

It appears this aircraft came to an unfortunate end in Shanghai yesterday with the loss of 3 lives.

Yes, it had only been delivered to Avient 8 days before its last outing.

Lots of controversy about Avient too, a Google search should prove instructive.

Thanks to Wikipedia the owner of this beauty is:

Dr. Vijay Mallya (Kannada/Konkani:ವಿಜಯ್ ಮಲ್ಯ, born 18 December 1955) is an Indian drinks and aviation billionaire and former Rajya Sabha MP. The son of industrialist Vittal Mallya, he is the Chairman of the United Breweries Group and Kingfisher Airlines, which draws its name from United Breweries Group's flagship beer brand, Kingfisher.

Mallya has an estimated net worth of $1.2 billion.[2] He receives substantial press coverage that focuses on his lavish parties and his hotels, automobiles, Formula One team Force India, Indian Premier League Cricket team Royal Challengers Bangalore and his yacht, the Indian. It seems he has the names of his three children under the cockpit windows.
