Due to a dispute between the Irish Aviation Authority and the Air Traffic Controllers there was no coverage at Shannon airport between 21.00 and 00.00 on the night of February 9th. The airport opened again at midnight on the 10th. Aircraft intending to arrive at Shannon timed their departures to give an arrival time of just after midnight but most arrived a few minutes early. Runway 06 was in operation at the time so for a few minutes we had 3 Ryanair and a Central Wings in the Foynes hold waiting for midnight.
First on the ground though was the RYR 133 which sneaked in under the stack - 10 out of 10 for perfect timing !!
