Buttons freezing
« on: February 19, 2010, 08:35:55 PM »
Hi All
 Had a problem crop up,
when in 3D mode, and go to the top bar  3D view and select 3D settings all the buttons freeze on screen  although the list updates and the aircraft move, only way out that i can see is to go to task manager select GE plugin and close the process, then reload it again from the screen that is generated this solves it, it has now happened several times

Try switching off Network Processing and then try again.  If you have an older PC, it might be struggling to process all the Network traffic.

OK, try setting the 3D Preferences for MyFlights to minimum.

No idea then I'm afraid.  Have you tried running RB by itself without any other programs?

What is the spec of your PC?

It sounds like your PC is capable of handling the 3D. What version of Windows are you running? Do you have the latest Internet Explorer installed too?

It sounds like it might be that the 3D View settings dialog box is flipping back behind the main application window. Can you try next time to un-maximize the ANRB3D application so it's a fairly small sized window and move it off to one side of screen, then choose 3D View -> 3D View Settings and see if it tries to stick it behind your main application window (since you made your window small, it should give you room to see what is happening), you should be able to hopefully drag the 3D Settings window out and click on the settings buttons and finish with "OK" or "Apply". Let me know if that seems to be the issue.

Looks like I have to un-maximize the ANRB3D every time I want to access the 3dview/settings button.
no other way to do it after it freezes

Does it do the same thing when you choose File -> Preferences -> (3D View Tab) ? This is a very strange issue since it's very specific to certain PC's. If you have any ideas what might be causing it on your system, please let me know so I can fix it in the next update.

It works ok when taking that route( File -> Preferences -> (3D View Tab))to the 3d view/  settings box.
As yet no idea why its doing it(will keep looking)

You may find either holding the ALT + TAB keys or WINDOWS + TAB keys to "rotate" the hidden form to the front, as an interim workaround. (Not sure which Windows version you are using). This may save you minimising/restoring.

Apologies if I've missed the point of this thread.
