Any chance of fixing the Search function please?
« on: November 18, 2009, 06:54:56 am »
Hello AirNav,

Is there any chance you could fix the long-standing Search function issue please?

As an example if I search for ShipTrax it returns 30 pages of 'hits' but when you look you see only 5 matches out of 30 messages displayed on the first page, none on the second, third, fourth, fifth etc.

That gives only 5 matches out of 150 returned mesages which is a success rate of @3%

For nearly everything I search for it returns 20-30 mostly irrelevant pages.

A search for BBC for example again returns 30 pages of 'hits' with only a solitary match on Page 19 and another single match on Page 24

I know I can use Google Search but it makes a mockery of having a Search function on your Forum and doesn't inspire confidence amongst your users if it cannot live up to its function.

Thanks & regards,
-=Glyn=-

This is a SMF feature external to us and we don't have direct access to SMF programming.
