Antenna and Radar Box relocated - more traffic!
« on: April 18, 2009, 03:56:27 PM »
I've just relocated the Radar Box and Antenna to a better location and I'm now picking up much more traffic especially to the north of EGLL.

Hi Mo, I've gone widescreen screenshot mode and zoomed out one click. Let me know what you think. Picking up the Lambourne hold very nicely.

Loving the radarbox feed. Just got a box myself but was wondering what sort of antenna you are using and where is it positioned? (e.g. loft, ground, etc.)

Cheers!

I have been promoting HeathrowCam in the UK during my visit by going near the runways with a T-Shirt that says heathrowcam.net :D !

I am loving it - Keep up the good work.

Regards,
Mo

Thanks Mark, I'm using the standard antenna at a height of 10 feet situated outside but away from buildings.

A heathrowcam.net t-shirt!! Excellent work Mo! Appreciate the free promotion :-) Perhaps I should make up some t-shirts using the new site banner and sell on the site for a good price?

Mo, please get a photo of you in the t-shirt and post it here if you are ok to?

Cheers

Hi Mason, welcome to the forum.

Did you find out about Radar Box through heathrowcam.net and the live radar feature?

I am currently running an Airnavsystems RadarBox from Edenvale, Johannesburg. If any of you are interested in having a look at what ADS-B aircraft are operating within a 250nm radius of Johannesburg, then click on the link below:

http://www.earthimage.co.za/Radarbox/FAJS.htm

This is a screen shot taken every 30s of the RadarBox feed that I am currently viewing. The screen will refresh automatically every 30s.

Hi Michael

Thanks for the link. I like the key at the top. Must add to mine sometime.

Have you posted this news in the AirNav RadarBox Screenshots area of the forum?

1) We haven't had a chance yet to see what you mean (no 27's since the 9th, do you mean the camera has also changed or just the info displayed below will be more accurate?

2) Sorry for my ignorance, but what exactly is the "Lambourne hold"? is it the place where aircraft hold (somewhere over North London, once leaving the hold it's about 7 minutes to touch down)?

Hi elal

The post I made was a year ago. The ANRB has not moved since then. The a/c info below photos feature is off for the time being following server problems and I need to improve the database lookup performance.

Here's a link to details of the Lambourne hold:
