Hi,

Just bought my RadarBox last week and finally put up the Radar-Extender antenna on the chimney on Wednesday...at around 10m agl. The antenna is fed with decent RG8/U cable.

The performance is not too bad...I may think about a DPD antenna and a pre-amp sometime in the future, but I'm pretty happy with what I have just now. It is EXTREMELY addictive I just say. Though I wish all the aircraft I can hear were sending position reports...it seems to be around 3 to 1 Mode-S/ADS-B sometimes here. Hopefully that will improve in time? I'm logging around 500 flights a day.

I was thinking about taking the unit mobile with me, though I was wondering whether anyone has has experience of this....I'm thinking of the 'security' (or percived security) angle here?

Anyway, great machine....I'm very impressed so far.

Good listeing folks!

Ken...

Nice one Ken,

Welcome to the forum :-)

I've gone mobile at Manchester Aviation Viewing Park without any problems - and at work demonstrating the box!
