Well, it looks fabulous and if it's the genuine article, I definitely will want one as the traffic in and around CYYZ is increasing and only 40 to 50 percent of my hits are ADS-B.  Having M-Lat on my radarbox will definitely enhance the hobby and Radarbox24 as well.

regards,

Jason

You will need another 4 or 5 of these around To get adequate MLAT.

Looking forward to hopefully finally getting MLAT.  What approach have you decided to take - client<>server, or client<>client.  Just curious, given all the discussions about this 3½ years ago!

David,

In common with the receivers provided by other trackers the comstation is intended solely to feed data to the host tracker i.e Radarbox24.  As such and in common with the other trackers receivers the data is not intended for interception.  This information has been provided to you previously and before dispatch of the unit to you.  If you have misunderstood this and wish to return the unit, return instructions have been forwarded to you by email

The radials of the antenna generate problem I do not have VHF and GPS

From my point of fiew the antenna delivered with comstation has a design flaw. For best ADS-B (1090MHz) reception remove  the radials and the top part. That way you will lose VHF reception but ADS-B reception shall improve. GPS shall be working too, as it is received by a third receiving part integrated in the antenna.

If you apply a 1090MHz narrow band filter the frequencies of VHF (ATC: 117,975 to 137 MHz) and GPS-L1 (1575,42MHz) will be blocked and therefore no reception is possible.

By the way: Why have you blacked the Firmware version. I understand the reason for blacking Station ID/Serial number, but blacking the firmware revision doesn't make any sense, as several boxes will use the same revision.

The VHF requires to be set up by Airnav at their end for it to work.  However there is interference being created somewhere by the current VHF set up which is affecting ADS-B reception and as the primary purpose of the unit is for ADS-B coverage the facility is not being used on new units until a fix is found.  I would suggest removing the VHF antenna until fixed.

What did support say when you contacted them, they are the only ones who can help.  If you have not already done so email [email protected] and advise them of your issue and they should be able to provide a fix and get it online.

I believe that unit should come from the factory with a filter already fitted inside and will also have an amp fitted.  I also presume you have re-booted the unit and no difference.  I would leave the radial antenna rods off.

I presume that the antenna has a clear view of the sky and you have checked all the antenna cable connections for tightness

I will also advise support of your post and get someone to contact you.

Please contact me on [email protected] with your email address.

I already wrote to support and the only solution was to move it to another place that I tried with an antenna of the same model but the problem is still several cases in Panama, Colombia and many in Venezuela.

The only answer is that we are working on the problem but it takes time in that.

Keep waiting for a support response and I see that there is no work on weekends will be until Monday.
Thank you for your help, my friend.

Hi,

My ComStation still running firmware 20150604033550.  Does it suppose to update itself when reboot?
Couldn't find any option to check or update firmware by user.

And how to upgrade to new firmware ?

You can't update the firmware. The Comstation is doing it by itself or the update is initiated by aurnav systems.
