Hi
Ive just swapped from XP to Win7 (64bit), and Airnav wont move beyond the the startup screen - ie where you input username/password. It just hangs and the only way to clear it is by the Task Manager.
Probably something basic but.............! Any ideas?
Many Thanks

Hi shytott
Not that I am computer literate but I have been reading up on using ANRB with Win 7 and from other treads it could be a virtual store problem - did you install to the default directory in Program Files or into a separate folder as recommended in this forum. Type Windows 7 in the search box and it should give you various treads on the subject.

Try starting it up in demo mode and enter your detaila then give it anothr go

Thanks Guys
Northerwatch,
yup, its in the Programfiles (x86) directory along with all my other apps
Bearcat,
It wont even start the demo!
-
Ive just installed the latest drivers and that had no effect. Is there some sort of security issue with Airnav and Win7? , firewalls etc? (this is Airnav 2007 - does that make a difference?
Cheers

I run it an a netboook with Win 7 (32bit) and no problems, but it is installed in its own directory on C drive. You could try right clicking the icon on staring Rbox and ruuning as Administrator.

Is there some sort of security issue with Airnav and Win7?
Yes, hence the advice to install somewhere other than Program Files. Best to install somewhere like C:\Airnav Systems\Radarbox
-
OK, sorry guys, I misread the advice.
I have just uninstalled Airnav, then reinstalled it into the C/:. Now the program does boot up, but its not receiving data from my antenna or internet.
Are there any speacial drivers I need to run Airnav 2007 on Win7 64bit?
Cheers
-
Probably best to download the latest 64-bit drivers from the support page - http://www.airnavsystems.com/RadarBox/support.html
Scroll down to "Latest Drivers".

Hi Tarbet
Yup, Ive done that but it has no effect.
Whats happening now is, if I reinstall from scratch, click the desktop icon, it boots the program up to the logon window with teh username and password preinstalled and it will progress into the program but will not receive local or internet data. If i then close it down and try to relaunch it, all I get is the logon window, which is now not pre filled in and after populating teh usnername and password, it just hangs. Even the demo will not work. Yet, if i switch to my old XP machine, everythings perfect.!!

Just noticed that you say you're running Radarbox 2007. Probably best to download and use the latest version v3.13.
-
Well yes, I had wondered about that, but isnt the latest version, the 3D version, and will that work with my older box?
-
v3.13 will work with any Radarbox.
Probably best to uninstall Radarbox, get the v3.13 installation zip, and then install that to C:\Airnav Systems\
-
Ok, here goes..................
-
Nope, v 4.03 downloaded and it boots up, but still not receiving local or internet data.

Hi Shylott
I had this same problem myself & the cure for me was to "do a search" or "update driver" for the drivers & "browse" your way to the C:/airnav systems/airnav radarbox/drivers folder & then it finds & loads the drivers........... well it worked for me anyway!!
& get the latest digitally signed drivers from here & copy n paste them to your Airnav drivers folder

Thanks Bob
I've tried that but now Im getting hardware not connected
-
I don't know if you did ths but did you restart your computer between uninstalling and re-installing. If not try uninstalling any versions of Rbox turn your PC off and restart then install the version you want into its own directory C:\Radarbox for example and start from scratch. It might help, it has me on occassions.

Cheers Bearcat, I've actually done all that, its a brand new downloaded version loaded to its own directory in C:/, and now Ivw managed to get the program booting up ok, its says hardware not connectec and wont take internet data. But the box front lites are flashing and my internet is working!
So, where do you go from here.......
-
Check in Device Manager to ensure it is listed under USB as "Airnav Radarbox", and is reported as working correctly.
-
Thanks Tarbat
Ive checked the Device manager and indeed it says the drivers are not installed for this device, but the ANRB64bit file is in teh drivers subdirectory of the Airnav directory (which is in the C:/ drive.
Should they be elseweher?
Cheers

Download the 64bit drivers (if you are running 64bit) and extract to a folder. Remember where that folder is.
Then follow the following
http://www.airnavsystems.com/radarBox/help/index.html?hardware_connection.htm
Making sure you point to the folder when asked and not to RadarBox location.
