Screenshot from current set-up,standard ariel on windowsill from home town approx elevation 650Ft with uninterupted view over west central Scotland.
Be intrested to see how this compares with others in the area.

tarbat what kind of antenna are you using?

Also are you at the top of one of the Grampians? :)

I'm using the Antenna kit available from Airnav, which uses a Wimo GP-1090 antenna and Mast pre-amplifier AS-1090.  Antenna and pre-amp are mounted in the loft.

Not on a mountain, no.  I'm at 90ft ASL, right on the coast, but get pretty good coverage where I'm not blocked by mountains or other houses.  Antenna is positions so as to get best coverage on the route up from England to Inverness.

Your southerly coverage (Over the borders) starts exactly where mine ends which is good to know!

Now I've got my setup finalised and had a week running it, here's the results:

The setup is a Moonraker Radar Rama antenna with a mast pre-amp on 20m of Weatflex 103.
I'm at 35m ASL and the antenna is a further 12m above that on a mast secured to the chimney.

There's a bit of a hill to my south and I also have the Harris Hills in that directions as well so my range is reduced in that direction. But apart from that it's not bad coverage and I may go for another antenna in the future to extend the range a little more. For now though, the small Radar Rama will do as the mast is only alloy tubing and I don't want to overload it, especially with the winds we get in the winter up here.

 This is my polar diagram from home in Cambuslang, Glasgow. Normal aerial that came with box on bedroom window sill upstairs facing eastwards. I am really only interested in flights around this area so seems not to bad for me.
