and would have enough space to park a car with the scanner and mayby rb..?
has anyone tried gatwick yet?
Thanks!

Johnn,
I usually park up in the layby in Charlwood Road up from Lowfield Heath and almost opposite The Flight Tavern Pub. You have to look through trees but the runway is visible so you can see everything landing and taking off. The local guys may know a better place.

Hi Johnn, If you go past the pub mentioned above with the airport on your right you come to the end of the runway, there is a small place on the right to park off the road. The police do come round often but if you have some id they not usually to bad. I am a member of" Taas" and I carry my ID card with me, might be looking at if you want to be around any of the Uk airports. Colin

Hello Colin but not wanting to appear thick but what is 'taas'? and how do you get one? if it stops the police giving you third degree? Not that I would mind them checking to see what I'm doing.

Hi besty8, If you go onto www.taas.co.uk it will explain things better than doing it here. I have found it very helpful in many matters. When you join up with them you get an ID card which should be recongised by H,row and Gatwick airports police. Colin.

Hi Colin,
Your link does not work unless you leave off the ?. Having gone to the site I can't see what relevance it has to ID cards acceptable to plod at airports. You'd be just as well printing up something yourself; using your driving licence; or better still, joining the Royal British Legion and using their ID card. Most plods know what that is and you'd be making a worthwhile contribution to welfare funds for our injured soldiers and the families of those killed in action.

Hi Viking9, I have been stopped many times at Gatwick and Heathrow and I havn,t had any problems so far. Also Heathrow airport police have started a new scheme and when you join up they do many checks on you and if you pass you are given an id card which is supposed to be enough for them to identify you. Colin. ps The contact for this is "Sargeant Martin Beard" at Heathrow aiport police station.

Hi Viking9, just checked my e-mail and the policemans name was "Martin Baird" sorry, his e-mail address is [email protected].

Colin,
Thanks for that.

Thanks for all the replys!
Would this ID card be useful to take to all uk airports?
Thanks

Hi Johnn, Dont know about other airports but if you was to get in touch with Sergeant Baird and if he has a little time on his hands he might look into this, in fact will e-mail him now to see what his thoughts are on this matter.
